From Robin Hoffman – Thanks for coming out to the Dec 2, 2023 Autocross at the American Muscle Car Museum. It was a challenging course and drivers turned in some very fast times! It was fun to also host the Central (Melbourne) Kaffeeklatsch at the same time as the AX. Thank to our Autocross Team who puts on a great event, Ed Dedick, who tirelessly runs the AMCM and comes to every event and all of our volunteers who pitch in! What a fun day it was!

From Robin Hoffman – A Car Show, two museums and lunch in one day – what a great day! I think we all now have a better appreciation for American ingenuity from the Elliott Museum and absolute awe for our Navy and the Seals!
We came home and watched the movie about Captain Phillips to see them in action. One of our PCA members was involved in bringing the actual lifeboat involved in the Maersk Alabama hijacking to the museum!
Thanks for coming out!

From Robin Hoffman – Space Coast Porsche Club had over 200 people in attendance on Thursday June 8th at for a pre-movie reception and private showing of the epic film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Movie. In Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 was featured as the heroic Autobot Mirage. We are thrilled by this exciting new addition to the upcoming film. To make this an even better evening, Porsche Melbourne sponsored the evening along with Space Coast PCA to have a reception in the theater’s hospitality room before the movie and we had a private PCA theater to enjoy the movie together at the Premiere Oaks 10.
And the popcorn was provided by the Club! Thanks to everyone who came out for a fun evening!

From Robin Hoffman – What a great night we had on Saturday April 2nd, 2023! 209 people from the Classic Car Club, Ferrari Club and the Porsche Club attended a dinner under Space Shuttle Atlantis. A once in a lifetime experience – I think everyone agrees, it was fantastic! Thanks to everyone who made it happen. It was a monumental undertaking! It looks like $21K was raised for the CCCA Education Foundation too! This is a compilation of many people’s photos.

From Robin Hoffman – Our 2023 Sunrise to Sunset Gimmick Rally is in the books! 125 participants, including fifty-one, two person teams of drivers and navigators from eight different regions from across Florida participated in the 2023 Rally held on March 24-25.
Organized by the Space Coast Region and sponsored by the Porsche Melbourne Dealership, the rally started with oceanfront sunrise breakfast in Melbourne and ended with a waterfront sunset dinner in Bradenton. The whole event was kicked off with a Blue Skies and Green Lights Dinner and Party at Porsche Melbourne.
The drive included thirty-five “Jeopardy style” answers along the route for which the proper questions were to be determined. Once the results were scored, the Space Coast Region dominated the award ceremonies and retained the coveted Sun Chaser Trophy given to region with the highest scores.

From Robin Hoffman – The Porsche 356 Florida Owner’s Group, or FOG, held its 2023 Gathering of the Faithful in Melbourne Feb 9-12th. Over sixty Porsche 356s were in attendance. These photos are highlighting the fun we had and the beautiful cars over the 4 days in chorological order. Thursday: Arrival to the Hilton and a welcome reception with a Tech Quiz thrown in for some controversy!
Friday we drove to the Warbird Museum and had a Pizza lunch among the planes after a few photo ops. Porsche Melbourne sponsored a dinner and cocktail party at the dealership – complete with a band for dancing! That evening, back at the hotel, a few of our unruly members were involved in a Key Lime Pie heist!
Saturday morning brought us to a Concours at the American Muscle Car Museum in front of the museum. After a morning Concours, the AMCM’s maintenance shop was open to view, with Ed Dedick answering questions and covering how the cars in the collection are maintained. After a break for lunch, a VIP tour was held from 1:30 to 2:30 with AMCM’s owner Mark Pieloch. Three lucky VIP guests won one of three awesome AutoGeek detailing kits. This was followed by a two-hour ice cream social, where guests could check out the entire museum. Another unique car was unveiled at this event, a 1959 Porsche 718 RSK Werks Spyder!
After a long day enjoying our cars, we gathered once again back at the Hilton for our Awards Banquet where we gave out awards to the drivers who went the most miles in 2022 – “Drive Those Cars Contest” and the winners of the People’s Choice Concour. Sunday brought the Annual Membership Meeting and a visit to 356 Unlimited to have breakfast and a look into Steve Hoffman’s restoration shop. After threats of rain for the whole weekend – our time in Melbourne was essentially dry! Great time had by all! Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success and everyone who helped to bring it to life! Photos by: Robin Hoffman, Andrew Mackey, Joe Owen and Jack Stenner

From David Kelly – Thirty-five Space Coast Region members brought their Porsches out for the Vero Beach Kaffeeklatsch on Sunday, February 12, 2023. The mix of cars was so great that it was difficult pick favorites, from vintage 356 Coupes to early and late model 911’s, along with Turbo’s, GTS’s, Boxster’s, a Cayman, a 944, a 968, two Macan’s, and a Panamera. Space Coast Region officers were on hand to answer questions, get input from the members, and to discuss up coming events. An official from the upcoming “Wheels & Keels” event in April at the Moorings was also available to answer questions from Space Coast members planning to participate in the event this year. It was another good day with great people and great cars! Here is a link to photos of the Kaffeeklatsch:

From David Kelly – The Porsche Marque was represented well by Ned Scudder’s Aqua Blue 2010 Cayman S at the invitation only event. A large number of automobiles were on display, including Classic American and European imports, along with current exotic cars, muscle cars and hot rods. The setting in McKee Gardens was perfect for the event with the backdrop of nature, exotic plants, and water features along the trails throughout the gardens. There was also a display of beautifully restored and modified British, Japanese, American, and Italian motorcycles in front of the “Hall of Giants.” The large crowd of spectators not only enjoyed seeing the cars and motorcycles on display, but also the unique surroundings and interesting history of “McKee Jungle Gardens.” You can see photos of the event at:

From David Kelly – Porsches, Porsches, Porsches! That’s what the 30th annual running of the “48 Hours at Sebring” PCA Race was all about and a large number of track-ready Porsches were on hand for the action on the track or waiting their turn in the Paddock. As the largest PCA race, this event draws cars and drivers from all over the country. This year was no exception with two hundred and fifty entrants listed for the full event program. Saturday’s race schedule was comprised of Sprint Races (twenty-five minutes each in duration) made up of four Run Groups, Silver (Advanced Solo), Yellow, Green, and Red, in that order. Enduro Races (ninety minutes each) were scheduled for Sunday to run through noon, followed by an “open track” for the Advanced Solo (Silver) Group until track closing at 4:00PM. Spec Boxsters, 914’s, 944’s, 968’s, air-cooled 911’s, Cayman’s, GT4’s, and Club Sports were plentiful in the Paddock and in the Yellow and Green Run Groups, complimented by a huge number of GT3 Cup Cars on the Grid for the Red Run Group. Lots of action and lots of excitement were the order of the day! Well known Racing Teams with large car haulers, fielding multiple cars and drivers, were often matched against single car entries and drivers all striving for a class win. You could even buy your own race car while you were there, picking from a large selection of race ready cars that were on display! Vendors and suppliers of race equipment were on hand as well, ready to outfit your car and provide the latest driver needs for your safety and comfort. If you like the sound of race cars in action and seeing the race teams at work in the Paddock, Sebring Raceway on Saturday was the place to be! You can see much of it in the photos taken by David Kelly at:

From David Kelly – Thirty-five Space Coast Region members brought their Porsches out for the Vero Beach Kaffeeklatsch on Sunday, January 08, 2023. Beautiful weather combined with great cars and great people made the occasion a special kick-off for the New Year. The cars on display included two beautiful 356 Cabriolets, some mid-eighties classic Porsches, and several of the latest Porsche models, including a “Frozen Blue Metallic” Taycan 4S. Three Space Coast Region officials, Stephen Tarr – Vice President, Sean Salthouse – South Region Coordinator, and Jay McGrath – Social Chair, were on hand to discuss the many upcoming events planned for the first half of 2023 and to answer questions from the attendees, which included several new members who were transferring in from other PCA regions. It was a good time as always and the Porsches were well protected as you will see in the photos. You can see them here:
