A COVID-19 Update from SPC
Hello Space Coasters!
We are cautiously continuing our outdoor events with great respect for the COVID-19 illness. Please understand that we are doing our best to move forward, but events may be postponed or canceled as new regulations and information become available. The CDC recommends slowing the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask when around people who don’t live in your household. Staying at least 6 feet away from others. Washing your hands often and use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
Below is a list of the upcoming events we have scheduled. Per Phase 2 guidance, all persons in Florida are encouraged to avoid congregating in groups larger than 50. This said we have had to limit participation in our events to remain compliant.
Kaffeeklatsches (Cars & Coffee) – 3 Locations Monthly
Come have coffee and visit with like minded Porsche enthusiasts on Saturday or Sunday mornings 9-11 AM. Most of our time is spent outside in the parking lot where we can safely social distance and enjoy the cars! No need to pre-register – just come out for a fun morning. Some wise members have begun bringing folding chairs to enjoy our coffee’s even more.
Melbourne – Sat Oct 3, 9am – 11am. Bold Cup Coffee, 2271 Town Center Ave #117, Melbourne, FL
Vero Beach- Sun Oct 11, 9am – 11am. Panera Bread, 2001 Indian River Blvd, Vero Beach, FL
Daytona – Sun Sept 20, 9am -11am Jason’s Corner 135 Canal St. New Smyrna Beach, FL
Space Coast Autocross: Saturday, Oct 3rd (Important Registration and Event details here)
We are very tentatively looking to schedule our World Class Autocross events, but are also concerned about everyone’s safety. So we are ecstatic to announce our “Save the Date” for our restart of our Autocross Events. Stay tuned to see if our COVID situation will allow the safe conduct of an Autocross. The American Muscle Car Museum site is amazing! It features a 1/8-mile dragstrip, skidpad, and road course all in one, a driver’s dream come true! A $50.00 admission fee must be paid online through ClubRegistration and waivers signed in order to participate. Due to COVID-19 we require online registration and payment only, no cash taken day of the event. New Coronavirus Guidelines must be followed in order to continue with our Autocross Program. Must be a PCA member driving a Porsche to compete. Sponsored by Porsche Melbourne. Registration to open in August on Clubregistration.net if we are able to begin.
Tech Session at Porsche Melbourne – Saturday Oct 24th
Sponsored by Porsche Melbourne. Registration to open in early October. More information on the topic and details closer to date.
The appearance of our activities will be different with social distancing (6 feet apart), lots of handwashing/sanitizing and facemasks encouraged when in close contact. However, it will be great to see friends and check out everyone’s Porsche again! It feels great to resume some of our club activities
We hope to see you at a future event! Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through the challenges brought forth by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please stay safe and take care!
