From Robin Hoffman – The rain was diverted! Elaine Christine, our Charity Co-Chair did a wonderful job organizing and executing our 2nd Annual Charity Golf tournament. Over forty golfers braved dark skies and great gusts of wind at the Cocoa Beach Country Club to continue our 50th Anniversary celebration! Many golfers aimed to win the 2018 Porsche Boxster prize for the Hole-In-One contest, courtesy of Premier Dealer Shay Rowe and Porsche of Melbourne. Hole witness volunteers reported that a few players got very close to the elusive pin! Over $1,000 was raised for the children’s charity, SAT7Education.org!
A round of applause and appreciation went to hole sponsors Ray Baldino of Baldino Studios, Jason Breitfeller at Breitwerks, Scott & Sue Kee, Roger Aumuller, and Ken Marshall with Glover Oil, Inc. Brian Birkholz at Allegra Printing donated a sponsor sign. Thank you’s also go to PCA National for the event subsidy which helped to pay for the luncheon, and Porsche Cars North America who donated the Porsche ball caps and cool power banks to recharge our cell phones.
Gift certificates to the Pro Shop were awarded to contest winners. Closest to the pin went to Charlie Tisdell and Kendall Hedgecock. Longest drive went to D. Hillman and Randi Ann Sullivan. Third place team “It’s In The Hole” won logo coasters for members Scott & Sue Kee, Roger Aumuller, and Gary Gibson. Second place team “Classy Shack” received logo mugs for members Jean Carney, Dee Turner, Randi Ann Sullivan, and Kendall Hedgecock. First place team, “The 718 Cayman’s” were each awarded a 50th Anniversary Challenge Trophy and a Pro Shop gift certificate for members Don Ling, Sherry Ling, Calvin Sierota, and Merritt Cogswell. The new champions will have their name engraved on the perpetual trophy—congratulations to all and THANK YOU!!
A huge Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out and made this event special – We appreciate your efforts!!
