From Robin Hoffman – On Saturday, the 27th of June, eighteen members, including two Corvette Club folks, joined us for some great family fun at the Frogbones Family Shooting Center in Melbourne. We had all sorts of folks who brought their own firearms, as well as an assortment of firearms offered for try-outs by Frogbones.

The best part, we had two members who had never shot a real firearm and were introduced to this sport by Frogbones very own Range Safety Officer (RSO), who took time to show these novices the safety lessons first and then carefully watched every move to ensure the firearm was fired safely.   I heard nothing but accolades about having the RSO there, and I can attest that our members had a great time and learned quite a bit about the safety aspects of firearms, and had fun at the range.

To my amazement, we have two “Annie Oakleys” in our group who deserve special mention, and that is Cindy Hambridge and Corinne Young, who really know how to hit a target. You don’t want to be a bad intruder around these gals.

We finished the night off by having some drinks at Frogbones Restaurant, the “Double Tap”, and I have to tell you that you never know all of the unique skills our folks have. I just learned that both Scott and Sue Kee are very experienced cave divers and that Sue is a diving instructor who owned her own dive shop at one time. So much you learn when you talk to our members that I never knew.  Bravo Zulu to all who came out to shoot with us and had a great time.
