From Sue Kee – What a fabulous turnout at the Central Area Kaffeeklatsch (cars and coffee) in Melbourne on the 4th of July! It was a beautiful morning, and there were so many beautiful cars. Members kept coming and coming. I lost count in the 50’s for members in attendance and around 40 cars. Then even more people arrived. We tried to gather the red, white, and blue cars together to make a patriotic statement, but the parking lot was filling up fast.
It was great to meet and chat with some new members, as well as members attending an event for the very first time, and of course, our many regular KK members.
Thank you so much to all who attended. It was great to hear new ideas for activities, locations, and even an offer of a special Porsche Car Show in December. It’s always fun to share places we’ve visited and check out all the beautiful cars and their owners, not to mention some new Porsches and all their details to enjoy.
The highlight of the event was being able to congratulate Jeff Dorman, our webmaster, and present him with his PCA Second Place Website Award in person. It’s a special once-a-year contest with so many regions vying for website awards. So happy that Space Coast has Jeff here to compete and place for such a prestigious award. He works hard, and we all gave him a rousing applause and congratulations. Way to go Jeff, you made us all proud!
And how much fun is it to celebrate our Country’s 250th Anniversary together on the 4th of July!
We started the year with 1,849 members and now have 1,869. We are a robust club with so many events. Thanks in particular go out to Jay McGrath, Frank Molnar & Peter Tyson for coming up with great ideas and events for the club.
Please introduce yourself to someone you may not know and make them feel welcome at our events. We were all new to the club once before and did not know anyone at a meeting.
