Florida Citrus Region HPDE – Saturday, January 31 & Sunday, February 1

What: Florida Citrus Region is hosting an HPDE

When: Saturday, January 31 & Sunday, February 1 (details below – check-in is Friday)

Where: Roebling Road Raceway https://www.roeblingroad.com/

Register at: https://clubregistration.net/events/signUp.cfm/event/16342

Also, Driver’s Choice is hosting a Solo Track Day for advanced solo drivers on Friday, January 30. Registration for the event is a separate registration, with details at this link: https://clubregistration.net/events/signUp.cfm/event/16432

The 2-day HPDE is focused on developing high performance driving skills for all drivers. Instructors will be provided for all students in the Green (novice) and Blue (advanced novice) groups.  Learn how to drive your Porsche the way the engineers designed it – in a safe and friendly setting.

In response to demands to provide a richer track experience, space will be limited to approximately 15-18 drivers for student run groups, and 20 for the White (solo) group. The event will fill up early, so sign up now.  PCA members will receive a discounted rate for the HPDE.

You will be confirmed when the required questions/registration information is complete (including your PCA number and PCA instructor number — you may want to put these in your profile for ease in future registrations), you do not have a duplicate number, your appropriate payment is received and your e-waiver is signed with a valid signature and you receive confirmation email from the HPDE Registrar.

GUESTs/CREW accompanying you to the track AT ANY TIME — PCA insurance requires that all attendees to a driving event sign the Waiver.  This includes those who are at the track for a limited time (i.e. we recently observed family members joining drivers Sunday afternoon).  You MUST have your guests sign the PCA waiver, in addition to the track waiver.  The easiest way to complete this is to have all who will accompany you at any time during the weekend, and are over the age of 18, create their own ClubRegistration account and register as Guest/Crew.  This will permit the eWaiver to be signed.  MINORS — PCA has updated their standards for waivers for minors attending driving events.  If you have a minor attending with you (or visiting you for the day), please ensure that you complete the Minor and Parent Form waiver form attached.  Note that BOTH parents must sign the release form.  If you do not have the minor waiver form signed, the minor will not be permitted at the track.

Written cancellations received more than 30 days in advance of the event will be credited or refunded, less appropriate fees charged by the processing bank (currently 4.25%).  Cancellations received 30 days or less prior to the event may be refunded, credited or forfeited at the discretion of Florida Citrus.  No refunds will be given for cancellations 6 days or less prior to event.  If given, any credit must be used within one year or will be forfeited.  Please note that no refunds will be granted for tech inspection standards that prevent you from going out on the track.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

HOTEL & CAMPING: We have a block of rooms reserved at a rate of $144++ at Spring Hill Suites (One Jay R Turner Dr, Savannah).  You may make your reservation by calling the hotel directly at 912-330-5555 Provide them with the following information: the hotel code SAVSA, group name Florida Citrus Region PCA and your date of arrival.  Please note that cancellations must be received 2 days prior to check in to avoid late cancellation charge.  Call NOW for a reservation.  The rate will expire on January 25, 2026.  Questions? Please contact annedelvill@gmail.com or 970-406-2090.  Camping will be allowed for an electric usage fee payable to the track at the entrance. Contact Jack Abbott at info@RoeblingRoad.com.

PADDOCK ELECTRICAL POWER UPDATE AT RRR: Roebling Road Raceway has updated the electrical power that will be offered at each pedestal.  They will be limiting the number of power sources on any given weekend.  Therefore, RRR is suggesting that you bring a generator to take care of any electrical needs while at the track.  They are no longer able to guarantee that there will be available power for those who may request it.

AGE: PCA regulations stipulate that drivers must be at least 18 years of age to participate in an HPDE.

RUN GROUP: For run groups other than Green novice and Red instructor, please ensure that your evaluations and/or registration history supports your requested run group.  If the information is not there, please request an email from the instructor/Region CDI that you were promoted to your requested run group and forward to the HPDE Registrar.

MEDICAL: HPDE events expose participants to mental stress, high acceleration, braking and turning, as well as the possibility of high temperatures, loud noises and vibration. For safety, you should be in good health and free from untreated high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by participation in this type of event. Contact your physician if you have questions about your participation.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES: Roebling Road Raceway is not equipped from a safety perspective to permit EVs on the track.  Therefore, EVs are not allowed on track.

TEST AND TUNE: Testing and tuning of cars will not be allowed.

TIRES: Check the age of your tires.  According to Porsche, tires over 6 years of age may not be used.  The age of tires must be checked by garages during the Tech inspection.  Ages will be verified during the Tech inspection at the track.  You will not be refunded if you have old tires.

LANE CHANGE AND AUTO BRAKING: Cars with Automatic Braking and/or Lane Drive Correction Systems/Lane Change Assist will only be allowed to participate if the systems can be turned fully off while the car is on-track.  The registrant must be able to ensure that these systems are turned off prior to and while on the track.

CRASH DETECTION on iPhone14 and later: If you have an iPhone or Apple watch that has crash detection, you must ensure that it is turned off prior to driving on the track.

HELMETS: SA 2015, 2020 and 2025 only.  2015 helmets will be accepted through June 2026.  Additionally, helmets M or K rated are not acceptable.  Reminder that helmets are verified during final tech inspection at the track.  Contact Linda at Apex Performance 866-505-2739 or linda@apexperformance.com for inquiries or to purchase.  She is an expert in fitting helmets and restraints, and will be at the track during the event.

HARNESSES AND RESTRAINTS: The PCA HPDE Minimum Standards require that a driver who uses a harness system, must ALSO use a head and neck restraint system (HANS device).  Because the rule of equal restraint always applies, if a driver uses a harness system there must also be a harness system available and used by his passenger.

EYE PROTECTION, FOOTWEAR AND CLOTHING: Footwear must be enclosed (not open-toe), no-slip, with a relatively smooth sole.  If the car does not have a windshield, the driver must be equipped with eye protection.

GATE HOURS/TRAILERS: The track entry gates will be open at 5:00 pm Friday, January 30th and will remain open until 6:00 pm Sunday, February 1st.  Note that gates are closed when the track is hot.  Remember quiet hours are 8:00 pm to 8:00 am every day, and 11:00 to 12:00 Sunday. No loud motors are permitted. Also, do not drive trailers on Ziegler Rd. Rather, continue on Rte. 80 past Ziegler Rd. and turn right on Rte. 17 for about 2 miles and turn right onto Roebling Road to the track. Do not block the track entrance or Roebling Rd.

HPDE REGISTRAR CHECK IN: (Subject to change) Check In for the HPDE will be at the track on Friday around 5 pm until 7 pm, and at track on Saturday morning 7:00 am to 7:30 am. Failure to check in during these hours may cause a loss of track time since registrars are also driving at the event.  Reminder — You must have a valid drivers’ license in order to drive the event.  You will not be permitted on the track without a HPDE wristband that is obtained during the check in process.

GUESTs/CREW accompanying you to the track AT ANY TIME — PCA insurance requires that all attendees to a driving event sign the Waiver.  This includes those who are at the track for a limited time (i.e. we observe family members joining drivers Sunday afternoon).

MINORS accompanying you to the track — PCA has updated their standards for waivers for minors attending driving events.  If you have a minor attending with you (or visiting you for the day), please ensure that you complete the Minor and Parent Form waiver form attached.  Note that BOTH parents must sign the release form.

TECH/CAR SAFETY INSPECTION: The Tech Form is attached.  Please make sure you use the correct form.  YOU MUST complete the participant sections (name, car make & model, etc.) and sign and date the form PRIOR to presenting at Tech.  You must have the Minimum Standard Tech Form completed by an approved mechanic/dealer/shop within 30 days of the event.  A mechanic will not be at the track to complete the form.

FINAL SAFETY INSPECTION: Final safety/tech inspection for HPDE will be at the tech shed at the track on Friday evening from approximately 5:00-7.00 pm and Saturday morning 7:00-7:30 am.

RIDE ALONGS: PCA regulations severely restrict “Taste of the Track” ride alongs for non-driving students.  We may offer a low speed, no helmet track tour on Sunday – NO LOUD CARS.  Instructors may give a Demonstration Ride to driving students in a run group one step higher than the student’s group.  For example, an instructor may give a ride along to a blue student in the white group.  During such student ride alongs, the instructor must drive at speeds appropriate to the run group and must obey the passing rules for that group.

DOWNLOAD TRACKKEEPER APP for iPhone: We will use the app “Trackkeeper” for our schedule.  Please download the app prior to the event.  To use via a browser or on non-Apple devices, the webpage is: https://potpca.mytrackkeeper.com

ENABLE TEXT MESSAGING: We may need to send text messages during the event with important information. Please be sure to enable text messaging in your clubreg profile.

GARAGE RENTAL: RRR has covered garages available to rent.  Contact Jack Abbott at info@RoeblingRoad.com.

TRACK REMINDER: Maximum decible limit at the track is 103.9 dB.  Additionally, no loud motors are permitted at RRR during quiet times (8:00 pm to 8:00 am), and 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Sunday. Both are strictly enforced by RRR management.  Refer to Roebling Road Rules for further track information that will be provided with your confirmation.

SOCIAL: We will have a pizza & beer/wine/soda social Friday evening.  Great times, great friends, and lots of Bench Racing

SHIRTS: If we provide shirts, we will order you an event shirt (typically T-shirts) if you request by size and gender at least 20 days prior to the event.  Please note if you do not indicate a size, or register less than 20 days in advance, you may not receive your desired size, or a shirt.
