Zotz Racing Open House & DE Tech Session – January 10, 2026

From Sue Kee – This past Saturday, six Porsches from Space Coast made the drive to Orlando to attend the annual Zotz Racing DE Tech Event. We were just a few of many people there who all showed up to see all the beautiful Porsches, especially the Porsche Race Cars, and to learn about HPDE (Porsche High Performance Drivers Education).

Discovery Parts was there to help people fit new helmets and race gear, as well as offer a nice discount on purchases.  Hagerty Insurance was also on hand to explain, and help people understand track insurance.

Kevin Duffy explained everything a newcomer would want or need to know to start enjoying HPDE events.  He explained all the gear required and how to go about getting to experience that very first taste of driving your Porsche at speed on a real racetrack.

Ron Zitza, an experienced pro-racing car driver, led a session on how to get the most out of your driving experience on several racetracks to those who have already experienced the fun of driving on the tract.  Ron explained the nuances of how to drive your car more efficiently, while stressing safety first while driving.  He talked about handling the many turns on Sebring Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, and Road Atlanta in many different driving situations.

It was also fun to hear from Tom Kirk, a long-time driver with Zotz, talk about his driving experience over the years.  Lots of questions were asked and answered.  Ron shared a wealth of helpful information with all.
