From Jay McGrath – On Nov 8, 2025 we had 17 members of the Space Coast Region PCA attend a tour of the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant. The tour was truly special as the VP of St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant Mr. Carlos Santos personally supervised the tour. It was very educational for all the members as they have never seen a nuclear plant up close like this before.
We toured the turbine deck and felt the immense vibration of the power of the turbine producing almost 900 Mw of power each unit. We toured the Control Room for Unit 2. All got up close to the Containment Building, and several touched it as seen in the photos. We also went to the energy center and toured the displays.
All were very keen to point out the heavy security and how FPL is a great steward of the environment around the plant.
