From Colette Glencross – Today we provided Denise the final financial contribution from Space Coast Region PCA. She was in shock! Over the course of the last year, the club had many events – Poker Run, Johnny Gray Car Museum, Historic Racing at Daytona, St. Lucie Power Plant tour – where we collected donations for Toys for Tots. In addition, we have had members provide personal financial contributions.
We provided T4T $6,869.26 in gift cards, checks, and dedicated toy purchases. Our Parade of Presents Toy Drive after the holiday party was the grand finale with Porsche’s delivering toys! Four Porsche SUVs were stuffed to the brim with toy donations from the Holiday Party as we drove from the Vero Kaffeeklatsch to Porsche Melbourne to Cocoa for delivery – Milt Weisman lead a group from New Smyrna Beach to the warehouse to join in the fun.
I feel that those SPC members involved in the events this year supporting Toys for Tots should be acknowledged. The Springer family, who provided their location to start the Poker Run, Robert Kantor, the contact with the Johnny Gray Museum, Frank Molnar, who ran the HSR Race Charity program, Jay McGrath, with the Nuclear Power Plant tour donations. If it were not for their efforts and time, our club would not have been able to make such a difference. Our leadership team recognizes them for their contribution to this very remarkable contribution.
In my time with SPC I have never known the club to provide such a concerted effort in donating money, gifts, and time! Steve Tarr, you are the one who had the vision to do something meaningful and bigger than has ever been done. Thank You!
We had two members arrive at the warehouse and volunteer repeatedly. They participated in the Volunteer Day and decided to come back to do some more shopping. Yes,,,,, not the cars… It is the PEOPLE! And Space Coast PCA has some of the best!
