Within the first four minutes, two “Buy it NOW” bids of $500 were received, from Stan Schwarz and Tom Kirk. Buy it NOW bidders get to select their months of appearance so October and December are SOLD!
You and your Porsche can make an appearance in the Space Coast Region’s 2016 Calendar, but only if you act quickly and bid aggressively. After all, only 13 members can be featured in the calendar.
Our 2015 Calendar Auction, thanks to the sponsorship of Shay Rowe’s Porsche of Melbourne, the hard work and artistry of Brevard’s celebrated portrait photographer Ray Baldino, and the participation of 13 Space Coast members, raised nearly NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS for Candlelighters of Brevard, benefiting children with cancer and their families.
We’re beginning the auction a little earlier this year to help give the snowbirds among us a better opportunity to participate. We’re so very pleased that Porsche of Melbourne will be returning as the sponsor and Ray Baldino of Baldino Studios in Cocoa Beach will once again work his camera magic, so this is your chance. If you weren’t in our calendar last year, don’t miss this opportunity. Even if you were, you can have your photo taken with your new Porsche. Still have the same car? No problem–Shay will be happy to trade you out of it!
So, how does the auction work? It’s really quite simple–we’re offering appearances in a 13-month calendar (Jan 2016 through Jan 2017). The minimum bid is $250 or you can “Buy-it-Now” for $500 and assure yourself of a spot. (in 2015, every month went for AT LEAST $500).
Simply e-mail your opening bid to email@example.com. We’ll tally them up and provide regular updates on the Space Coast Region website (http://spca.pca.org), so you can track the progress of the bidding. As soon as your bid is accepted and you’ve paid, we’ll schedule your photo shoot with Ray.
For 2016, we’ve chosen a different needy charity– the Haven for Children.
Providing residential and therapeutic care for children, infants, and teens who have been removed from their families because of abuse, neglect or abandonment. The 300 Haven volunteers support an around-the-clock staff of 30 care-givers operating three Florida-licensed residential group homes providing both long-term and urgent care. By making the children’s daily living as normal as possible, the Haven’s goal is to help them develop trust, confidence, and self-worth. To learn more about the Haven for Children, please visit their website http://www.thehavenforchildren.com.
So, don’t delay–send your bid now to firstname.lastname@example.org! BTW, we’ll be happy to accept your donation to the Haven in any amount–even if you’re not participating in the auction. The last two calendar auctions resulted in more than $5,000 from such member donations. Send an e-mail with your pledge and then mail your check payable to:
